Canadian Sex Lives Need Spicing Up: 'Homework' From a Sexpert">

If you and your mate are looking to spice things up in the bedroom, maybe you should consider watching more television - on K-Y's YouTube channel, that is. The K-Y Intimacy Experiment is a 12-week series of playful 'homework' assignments designed to help Canadians restore connections and create more meaningful and exciting relationships with their partners. "The purpose is to inject some excitement into the sex lives of people," says sexpert (and spokes-sex-person) Teesha Morgan. "The homework ranges from naughty talk to giving your partner a massage to recreating your first date to telling your partner exactly what you appreciate about them. And all of the exercises are designed to enhance intimacy and bring that into the forefront. Couples can follow along, and do the exercises; plus, there's a free K-Y sample pack for signing up."

K-Y came up with the idea after some surprising results about the sex lives of Canadians. Those results?

The K-Y Intimacy Survey brought this experiment to the forefront when it was discovered that over 50 percent of Canadians aren't currently happy with their level of sexual activity - but 90 percent of them are willing to do something about it and try something new in the bedroom. K-Y's obviously in the intimacy business, so that's why they launched this.

Some additional results from the survey?

1. Roughly half (53 percent) of Canadians in long-term relationships are having sex at least once a week or more. Perhaps surprisingly, Canadians in long-term relationships who have children tend to have sex more frequently (60 percent vs. 49 percent).

2. Laughing together (71 percent), going out on dates (67 percent) and recalling happy memories (56 percent) are the top favourite intimate moments Canadians share with their partners outside the bedroom.

3. More than half of Canadians in long-term relationships were first attracted to their partner's physical appearance (58 percent) and kindness (52 percent). Over time, respondents said they now value their partner's personality traits such as kindness (65 per cent), reliability (58 percent), honesty (57 percent) and sense of humour (54 percent) more than physical appearance (42 percent).

4. Among those not completely satisfied with their current level of sexual activity, half (51 percent) cite exhaustion as the biggest barrier to satisfaction, followed by a busy schedules and stress.

What do you think? Are you looking to boost your intimacy through sexy homework assignments? Do you think a program like this can even work?
