Is Your Dull Job Making You Lazy?

Does you job affect your spare-time exercise habits? You bet -- but not in the way you'd assume. While it might seem logical that those who don't feel challenged at work would try to make up for their lack of fulfillment by pushing themselves physically in their spare time, the opposite is true.Recent studies have found that those who aren't challenged, suffer little work-related stress and who feel they have little control over what they do, are more likely to be couch potatoes in their free time than those who have fulfilling, busy careers.
It seems that an adrenaline-filled day at the office will help you get energized for a workout after you've shut off your computer, whereas a dull day pushing pencils will leave you sluggish for the rest of the week.
Don't let your boring job affect your exercise habits -- taking up a regular fitness routine will increase your energy and confidence in both your workplace and personal life. And you don't have to wait until 5pm to get a workout in -- consider taking a walk on your coffee break or signing up for a nearby lunch time yoga session that will help break up the day a bit.
