Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh has been labelled a deadbeat dad by former live-in girlfriend Allison Mathis, who alleges that Bosh paid for fertility treatments and then left when she was seven months pregnant.
The Toronto Star recently reported allegations that Mathis, who claims that she and Bosh had plans to marry, was left destitute and without medical coverage when Bosh walked out. Mathis says she lacked the money to pay for obstetrics appointments and was forced to move back in with her mother. Her daughter, Trinity Meyers Mathis, was born in November and allegedly seen her father only twice. Mathis claims that she has requested child support from Bosh on numerous occasions but has yet to receive any support.
Twenty-five-year old Bosh, who is making US$14.4 million this season, has declined to comment specifically on the case, which is now pending in a Maryland court, but has denied Mathis' allegations. "All I can say is I'm going to take care of my responsibilities like I've been doing in the past and in the future and keep respect for everyone," he told reporters.
